It's all happening now
Born in the heart of Transylvania, Romania, Alex grew up in a vibrant musical environment, influenced by his father, a dedicated music manager and talented guitarist. From an early age, music was woven into the fabric of his family life. At just two years old, Alex demonstrated his innate musical talent by perfectly matching the notes of his father's guitar while he was tuning it. This remarkable ability led to his early introduction to performance, and soon after, Alex found himself sharing the stage with artists his father managed. His formal training began with classical piano, where he excelled in music school from first grade to sixth, winning numerous national prizes as a classical pianist.
A pivotal moment arrived when Alex turned twelve, and his father bought a car from the US that happened to have a DVD of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s iconic Live at Montreux concert. Watching this legendary performance ignited a passion within him, and he became determined to pursue a career in music as a blues guitar player. His father made a deal: if Alex learned three Stevie Ray Vaughan songs by the end of the summer, he would switch his classes from classical piano to guitar and buy him any guitar and gear he wanted. Alex accepted the challenge, dedicated himself to practice, and by the end of the summer, he had not only learned the songs but also earned the chance to follow his true passion. By the age of thirteen, he formed a tribute band called Flalexmy, which toured Romania and Europe, garnering significant attention and acclaim.
With a burning desire to live the American Dream, Alex set his sights on the United States. After finishing high school, he obtained a Visitor Visa and enrolled in a Guitar Clinic at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he earned a $21,000 scholarship. In order to be able to attend a full year at Berklee he needed additional funds so he decided to try and win The Voice in Romania. He came close to winning but got in 2nd place in the Finals which came with no financial reward but it came with the support from local artists and actors that helped him raise funds to pursue his dreams in America.
Once in Chicago, Alex quickly made a name for himself, performing at legendary venues like Buddy Guy’s Legends, B.L.U.E.S. on Halsted, Kingston Mines, Rosa's Lounge. After a successful stint in Chicago, he returned to Romania to work as the lead guitar player for Dancing with The Stars. However, Alex's journey didn’t stop there; he eventually moved to Philadelphia, where he began playing locally and making vital connections that would lead him to the bustling music scene of Nashville. In Nashville, he performed on Broadway, captivating audiences and catching the attention of industry professionals. This led to opportunities to tour with renowned artists such as Pam Tillis, Keith Burns of Trick Pony, John Schneider from Dukes of Hazzard, Presley & Taylor, Chris Barnes, Tabitha Fair, and music legend Desmond Child.
While performing, Alex has been tirelessly writing and honing his original songs, which are set to be featured on his debut album. His dedication and hard work culminated in a significant achievement in 2024 when his band won the International Blues Challenge in Nashville, allowing them to represent Music City in the finals in Memphis in 2025. Alex's journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication, passion for music, and the transformative power of following one’s dreams. With every note he plays and every song he writes, Alex continues to inspire others and make his mark on the world of music.
